Uni SA Building VThis imposing structure houses over 300 tonne of heavy structural steel work both in conventional and truss form. As the building designers desired a marriage between the structure and the near by wet lands the building was constructed with a substantial cantilevered overhang which has an entire end of Building V hovering over a natural wet land zone. Large steel trusses built into both sides of the structure work hard to support the overhang. Very evident during construction they remain hidden in the building envelope, working tirelessly to float the eastern end of the building above the ground. The end result is quite stunning as displayed in the attached images.
