Central City Bus Terminal (1,470 tonne)
Due to the nature of the design, a particular challenge on this project was the manufacture and installation of the major trusses.
A series of trusses span 25.5 metres across and above the road which allows passage for buses to drive under the building. The six story building structure is built over and supported by the trusses. Tight tolerances of these load bearing trusses required considerable attention to ensure perfection in manufacture and erection. Each truss measures 25.5 metres long and weighs 15 tonne.
The building has provided the Adelaide CBD with a new and thoroughly up to date transport hub and much needed car parking in the fast developing West Central area of Adelaide.
